Groutec

We offer 3 Groutec types

Fully Grouted Sleeve

The Groutec F model does not need any bar end preparation and is a fully grouted connection solution.
Groutec is designed and manufactured in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS 8110, ACI 318, IBC, AASHTO.

Product features & benefits

  • Fast and easy installation
The Groutec F model is a fully grouted solution that speeds up on-site installations
  • Cost effective

Groutec F by Dextra is a fully grouted coupler designed to connect reinforcement bars in precast concrete elements. It provides high structural performance while helping to reduce installation time and overall project costs.

Here are the main reasons why Groutec L is cost-effective:

    • No BarEnd Preparation Needed

Rebar connections are completed by injecting or pouring nonshrink grout into the sleeve, a process that takes only seconds, significantly reducing labour time and site costs.
    • Fast OnSite Installation

Rebar connections are completed by injecting or pouring nonshrink grout into the sleeve, a process that takes only seconds, significantly reducing labour time and site costs.
    • Compatible with Standard Grouts

The coupler works with commonly available nonshrink grout brands such as Sika, Davco, Fosroc, and BASF, so contractors don’t need to source specialised or expensive materials.
    • Simplified Procurement and Logistics

With minimal tool requirements and compatibility with standard grouts, Groutec F streamlines procurement and reduces supply chain complexity, lowering indirect project costs.
  • Bracing: three days only
    • After the sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout, the temporary bracing used to support the precast element can typically be removed after approximately three days.
    • This curing period allows the grout to develop sufficient strength, ensuring a stable and reliable connection between the precast elements.

The Full Tolerance Precast Splice

Groutec L is a mechanical splicing designed for the connection of precast elements. Each Groutec L sleeve features a threaded end for the connection to reinforcement bars at the precast factory and a wide body allowing for more misalignment tolerance for the connection of two precast elements at site.

Groutec L is designed and manufactured in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS8110, ISO 15835, ACI 318 type 2, and AASHTO code requirements

Product features & benefits

  • Grout compatibility
The Groutec L is compatible with any standard non-shrink grout.
  • Seismic performance
Groutec L is suitable to be used in earthquake-prone areas.
  • Cost Effective

Dextra Groutec Large coupler (Groutec L) is considered cost-effective in many precast concrete projects, mainly because it reduces labour, installation time, and sourcing costs.

Here are the main reasons why Groutec L is cost-effective:

    • Faster Installation on Site

The connection is made by injecting non-shrink grout into the coupler cavity, which can take only a few seconds. Faster installation means less labour time and lower site costs.
    • Reduced Construction Time

After grouting, temporary bracing can often be removed after about three days, helping accelerate project schedules and reduce equipment and labour costs.
    • Uses Standard Non-Shrink Grout

The coupler works with commonly available grout brands, so contractors do not need expensive proprietary materials, which reduces procurement costs and simplifies sourcing.
    • Large Alignment Tolerance

Groutec L has a wide cavity that tolerates rebar misalignment, making installation easier and avoiding rework during precast element assembly.
    • Higher Productivity in Precast Construction

Because installation is quick and alignment tolerance is large, precast elements can be erected faster, improving overall construction productivity.
    • Reduced On-Site Labour

The system requires only screwing the threaded bar and grouting, eliminating complex on-site processes and reducing labour requirements.
  • Bracing: three days only
    • After the sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout, the temporary bracing used to support the precast element can typically be removed after approximately three days.
    • This period allows the grout to develop sufficient strength, ensuring a stable and secure connection between the precast elements.

Equipment features & benefits

Top performance in a slim design

Groutec S is a mechanical splicing designed for the connection of precast elements. Each Groutec sleeve features a threaded end used for the connection to reinforcement at the precast factory and a cavity to perform a grout connection at site. Groutec S is designed and manufactured in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS 8110, ACI 318, IBC, AASHTO.

Product features & benefits

  • Less grout usage
The Dextra Grout S coupler uses less grout thanks to its slim body design
  • Bar tolerance
The Groutec S connector accommodates for different bar sizes
  • Cost Effective
    • Reduced Grout Consumption

The slim body design of Groutec S requires less grout compared to larger sleeves or traditional void systems, helping to reduce both material usage and preparation time.
    • Faster Installation

The rebar connection is achieved by injecting non-shrink grout into the sleeve cavity, a process that can be completed within seconds on site. This quick installation significantly reduces labour time and associated costs.
    • Reduced Labour Requirements

The system eliminates complex on-site operations, allowing precast elements to be connected quickly and efficiently, saving valuable labour hours during construction.
    • Lower Material Requirements

By eliminating the need for long lap splices, Groutec S reduces steel congestion and reinforcement usage, making precast elements lighter and easier to handle and transport.
    • Use of Standard Non-Shrink Grout

Groutec S is compatible with commonly available non-shrink grout products, simplifying procurement and reducing material costs.
    • Faster Project Progress

Temporary bracing can typically be removed after approximately three days, allowing faster erection of precast elements and improving overall project productivity.
  • Bracing: three days only
    • After the sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout, temporary bracing used to support the precast element can usually be removed after approximately 3 days.
    • This period allows the grout to gain sufficient strength, ensuring a stable and secure connection between the precast elements.
